Coombs Wood – Saturday 25th April

Some brief thoughts from the organisers/planners

The Good:
– A beautiful, warm, sunny day
– Lots of youngsters on the Yellow course
– A coaching session beforehand
– A new, well-received Score course suitable for both newcomers and the more experienced – it’s definitely something to be repeated at future Saturday morning events.
– Lovely views over the River Eden

A perfect day to be an organiser

The Bad:
– Blue and Green courses that were too tough because the planners didn’t realise how much vegetation would grow in the last two weeks of April. Thank you to competitors for not complaining too much.
– The mountain bike tracks on the steep slope that change more quickly than a mapper can keep up with

The Ugly:
– The scratched legs of competitors who wore shorts. Sorry we forgot to say that full leg cover should be worn.
