Border Liners put on orienteering events approximately once a month throughout the year, and everyone is welcome – there is no need to be a club member. Details will appear on this page as they become available. Entries will open a couple of weeks before the event and pre-entry is required for all courses apart from Novice courses (Yellow and/or Orange) which can be entered either in advance or on the day.
Other local clubs also put on events: LOC (South Lakes), NATO (Newcastle), NN (Northumberland), RR (Scottish Borders), SOLWAY (Dumfries and Galloway), SROC (North Lancashire and South Cumbria), WAROC (Central Lakes), WCOC (West Cumbria).

Safety and Risk:
– A comprehensive risk assessment is carried out for every event by the organiser.
– Runners must download even if they retire so we can be sure everyone is back and that we do not need to start a search and rescue.
– Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.
Non-BO members and Third Party Liability Insurance:
From January 1st 2026 non-members are NOT covered by British Orienteering Third Party Liability insurance at any event. This means that they take part at their own risk. For example, if a non-member were to accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property during the event, they would not be covered.
Also, non-members are ONLY covered for their first three “activities” (i.e. non-competitive sessions such as training)
