BL members were in action last weekend (24th/25th October) in three very different events. The club’s WhatsApp group has never seen so much action, with reports and pictures coming in from all three.
First, BL’s own Saturday event at Walltown Country Park near on Hadrian’s Wall near Haltwhistle. It was the first event the club has held for a while due to cancellation and postponements, and definitely worth the wait. As one competitor said “….. superfun and fast area, with gorgeous autumn colours”. It was also a good opportunity to show off our Compass Sport Trophy (and eat more chocolates). Then there was the OMM (Original Mountain Marathon) in south west Scotland. A true epic, even by mountain marathon standards, as Natalie’s evocative report describes (see here). No spoilers, but there were multiple BL prize winners….
Finally, for those who prefer sun to wind and rain there was a CRET (City Race Euro Tour) weekend in the city of Segovia in central Spain. Three BL members attended and again were among the prize-winners. Jane’s report and pictures of the weekend are here, and will get you thinking about whether to have a go yourself next year.
