Starts 18:00 to 19:00. Courses close 21:00.

Parking on verge of minor road east of The Beacon that passes the entrance to the Roundthorn Hotel. Approach via Beacon Edge and turn north at NY 5334 3074. Please park tidily on the west side of the road. Some parts of the verge can be muddy, but it’s important that we don’t block this narrow road. Sharing transport where practicable will help us greatly. If parked cars have reached down to the Roundthorn entrance when you arrive, please turn round and park on the north side of Beacon Edge west of the junction. DO NOT PARK on the minor road between Beacon Edge and the Roundthorn entrance please

If you plan to arrive by public transport the start is 2.5 km from Penrith train station and buses from Carlisle stop at Penrith Bus Station 1.5 km away. A taxi would easily get you to the Roudthorn Hotel entrance, from where it is a few hundred metres to the forest gate.
Please dress appropriately for the conditions. If the weather is poor a cagoule and whistle may be compulsory. A backup light is advisable.
Runners MUST download even if they retire so we can be sure everyone is back and that we do not need to start a search and rescue. Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.
