Part of the British Nights (WCOC) weekend, with Loughrigg (LOC) on Sunday 11th.
Event Centre & Facilities: We are using a room in Keswick Museum as our event centre.https://keswickmuseum.org.uk/visit/getting-here/
There will be toilets, and space to leave your bags. No muddy shoes please. No dogs are permitted in the building, although they can be taken on courses on a lead.
Terrain: Parks and quiet streets in the north part of Keswick.
Start: Close to the event centre. There are no set start times so just turn up when ready. Loose control descriptions will be available at the start.
Finish: Close to the event centre. Remember to download after finishing.
Timings: Start times between 12:00 and 14:00. All finishers must download before 15:15 when we will start to collect in controls. Parents can accompany/shadow juniors.
Punching: SportIdent punching will be used. All competitors must punch the start and finish boxes. For those using SIAC cards, contactless punching will be possible at all controls out on the course.
Controls: Controls will be secured by gripple to lampposts, fences, trees etc. It is unlikely we will be using conventional stakes.
Courses: A range of courses is available to suit whatever people feel like running, when they may also be running in the British Nights. Those on or past their 16th birthday are welcome to choose whichever course they want, regardless of age information.
If you are aged under 16 on the day of the event you must enter course 4, 5 or 6, regardless of your level of fitness. Please see table below for details. Courses 4 and 5 do not cross any busy roads. Course 6 does not cross any roads at all.

Course 1 and 4 will use 1:4,000 maps, with the other courses on 1:3,000

Entries & fees: Entries are now open on SiEntries. Seniors (21 and over) £6, Juniors (20 and under) £2. There will be some entry available on the day (EOD) on courses 3, 4, 5 and 6 (around 10 maps on each) and there may be some maps available on other courses.
Pre-entries for all courses close at 23:59 on Wednesday 7th February. If you don’t have an SI-card, leave the number blank on the entry form and collect one from Enquiries on the day. If you are new to orienteering and would like to go round as a group or in a pair, just enter one person and use the option to select any additional maps that your group would like at £1 each.
Public transport: Keswick is well served by buses from Ambleside and beyond (555,) from Penrith (X5), from Borrowdale (78), and from Cockermouth and beyond (X4/X5).
Parking: No allocated parking. The closest and cheapest parking is:
Crosthwaite Road Car Park (Fitz Park Trust), (what3words ///forgiving.wedge.price) capacity 80, (access on foot into town via Fitz Park), no overnight stays – £4 all day for cars, £8 for camper vans CA12 5PP. No overnight parking from 23:59 – 06:00. Payment through RingGo.
