What3Words bootleg.camcorder.spout

Parking: There is a small amount of space in the Forest Car Park. Please leave this for those who most require it. Most cars will need to park on the roadside to the NE and SW of here, all within 300m of the car park. There will be no parking marshals – DIY parking
Download, Registration and Enquiries will all be in the car park.

Terrain: A mixture of coniferous and broadleaf woodland with many paths and rides and very varied runnability. The woodland has matured significantly over the last 10 years or so making it far more attractive than you might remember! In the northern part there are a number of scenic ponds and a river valley.

Map: 1:7,500 for all courses. Remapped using LiDAR data for this event. The new map can be seen here. A black cross on the map represents a branch hide.
The road along the southern boundary of the area is marked as out of bounds. Please do not run along it, even on the verge – you must stay inside the boundary wall.

Descriptions: Descriptions are on the front of the map. There are no loose descriptions.
The following symbols are in use:

Courses (distance and climb):
· Blue 6.0km, 105m
· Green 4.5km, 65m
· Short Green 3.1km, 50m – ## see note 1 below
· Very Short Green 1.9km, 50m – ** see note 2 below
· Light Green 3.7km, 45m
· Orange 2.8km, 40m
· Yellow / Novice 2.1km, 30m
(Advice on what the colours means and which course will suit you available here)

## Note 1: Short Green (and Very Short Green) – in order to provide technical challenge this course goes into some areas with closely planted conifers (but with a fairly clear forest floor). Orange may be a better choice for anyone who will find this difficult. Sorry about this!
** Note 2: Very Short Green – this is the same course as Short Green but with some controls missed out towards the end. If you want to do Very Short Green, pick up a Short Green map at the start. The map will show which controls to miss. You can decide while on the course whether to take the Very Short Green cut-off.

Start and Finish: The Start and Finish are both within 100m of the car park

Start Times: 11:00 – 12:30

Courses Close: 14:00. You must be back at the finish by this time even if you haven’t finished your course
