After this event was cancelled twice last year because of a wet parking field, it was a big relief to all involved when it finally happened on Saturday (28th April). And it was definitely worth the wait. The weather was dry and sunny with a cooling breeze, the courses were challenging both navigationally and physically, the views were amazing if you had time to look and the coffee/food van was an added bonus.

A well-attended coaching session was held before the event, with exercises suitable for all levels of experience. Thanks to club coaches Julie and Christine for this. Afterwards youngsters Matthew (M10) and Thomas (M14) were presented with Border Liners buffs in recognition of their committment to the club

Any BL member wanting to buy a club buff should contact the secretary Julie (secretary@borderlinersorienteering.org)
Thanks go to everyone who helped on the day. The main officials were Natalie Hawkrigg (Organiser, who effectively had to do the job three times), Andrew Bell (Planner of the cancelled events) and Karen Parker (Controller, who also adapted Andrew’s courses to work with the new parking field)
