High Stand Wood doesn’t have the best reputation – dense forest, brambles and felled areas all feature in recollections of the area. However, the woodland has matured significantly over the last ten years and might surprise you.
There is also a new map, based on LiDAR data, which you can see here (and if you want to compare it with the old map look here).
The planners can’t promise that all the tough vegetation has gone but have made efforts to keep you in the best bits (though Blue competitors do need to remember that it really is more fun to be battling through bracken and branches than running along boring forest roads).
